Heavy vehicle access in an emergency – new fact sheet
The NHVR has a new fact sheet which outlines heavy vehicle access requirements in an emergency.
In an emergency, the NHVR may issue an approval for heavy vehicle road access, as long as the exemption won’t create an unreasonable danger to life or property.
An emergency could be something like a natural disaster, flood or fire and heavy vehicle access might be needed to protect life or property or to reconnect critical utilities.
